Steven C. Hayes

Dr. Steven C. Hayes is an Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno and President of the Institute for Better Health, a nearly 50-year old charitable organization dedicated to better mental and behavioral health. He is also the author of 48 books and over 700 scientific articles, originator of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Relational Frame Theory, and co-founder of Process-Based Therapy and of PsychFlex.

Dr. Hayes has been President of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, among other scientific groups. His work has been recognized by several awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the Impact of Science on Application Award from the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis. A Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, he is one of the most cited psychologists in the world.

Gijs Jansen

Drs. Gijs Jansen is one of the most prominent pioneers in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in the Netherlands. After specializing in ACT in 2003, he has authored 15 books, penned over 100 articles, and delivered numerous online and direct training programs. He is also a co-founder of PsychFlex.

Drs. Jansen is a faculty member at the Radboud University Nijmegen, and has contributed extensively to the development of ACT in the Netherlands, including with the creation of ACT Guide for healthcare professionals. With his expertise as a psychologist, supervisor, and ACT trainer, Jansen conducts workshops nationwide.

Diana Hill, PhD

Diana Hill, PhD is a clinical psychologist, international trainer, and sought-out speaker on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and compassion. Host of the podcast Wise Effort and author of The Self-Compassion Daily Journal, The ACT Daily Journal, and the upcoming book Wise Effort, Diana works with organizations and individuals to develop psychological flexibility so that they can grow fulfilling and impactful lives.

Rick Hanson, PhD

Rick Hanson, PhD is a world-renowned clinician, best-selling author, and thought leader in the exploration of the implications of contemporary neuroscience for processes of change that uplift people. He is a Senior Fellow at UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, and the founder of the Global Compassion Coalition and the Wellspring Institute for Neuroscience and Contemplative Wisdom. His seven books have been published in 33 languages.

Robyn D. Walser, PhD

Robyn D. Walser, PhD is Director of TL Consultation Services and works at the National Center for PTSD. She is the Co-Director of Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinical Services and Assistant Professor at the University of California, Berkeley. As a licensed psychologist, she maintains an international training, consulting, and therapy practice. Dr. Walser is an expert in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and has co-authored seven books on ACT, including a book on learning ACT. She recently wrote the book The Heart of ACT- Developing a Flexible, Process-based, and Client-centered Practice Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Madeleine Fraser, PhD

Madeleine Fraser, PhD is a researcher, senior lecturer, and registered clinical psychologist. In her academic role, she is course coordinator of the Clinical Masters in Psychology program and works with future generations of clinical psychologists. She is an active self-compassion researcher, and her published findings inform her work as a clinical psychologist and educator.

Joseph Ciarrochi, PhD

Joseph Ciarrochi, PhD is a professor at the Institute for Positive Psychology and Education at Australian Catholic University. He has published more than 165 scientific journal articles and many books, including the widely acclaimed Emotional Intelligence in Everyday Life and The Weight Escape. He is ranked in the top 1% of scientists in the world across all disciplines, and he has been instrumental in the development of Process-Based Therapy, which cohesively integrates various therapeutic change processes and interventions, aiming to enrich therapeutic practice and tailor interventions to individuals.

Louise Hayes, PhD

Dr. Louise Hayes has dedicated her career to helping young people using contextual behavioural science. She is the author of four books using CBS, the developer of the DNA-V framework (along with Joseph Ciarrochi), a clinical psychologist, and international speaker, and, in her spare time, a Buddhist meditation teacher. Louise is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at La Trobe University and Past President of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.

Gerhard Andersson, PhD

Gerhard Andersson, PhD, is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and full professor at Linköping University, Sweden. He is a specialist on tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and also a world leading researcher on internet-delivered psychological treatments for a range of disorders and problems.

Guy Meadows, PhD

Guy Meadows, PhD is a co-founder of Sleep School, and a leading figure in chronic insomnia treatment. He has been instrumental in developing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Insomnia and regularly conducts therapist training sessions on the subject. Dr. Meadows authored “The Sleep Book – How to Sleep Well Every Night” (Orion, 2014) and launched the Sleep School App in 2021, both specializing in applying ACT for chronic insomnia.

Trevor Jones is a professional golfer and former national champion. His interest in the psychology of performance covers two decades and he has worked as a mental performance coach for the past 5 years. ACT has been inspiring his life and work for the past 8 years and Trevor is now the psychological ambassador for the British Junior Golf Tour.

Billy Ryan

Billy Ryan has worked as a mental performance coach with primarily athletes and coaches for the last 7 years, and ACT training programs more recently. In his practice he uses mostly ACT in a training-based way with athletes all across America. Billy has worked with competitors at all levels, from junior golf academies, high school, Division 1 athletes, and Olympic teams.

Lou Lasprugato

Lou Lasprugato is a behavioral health provider and internationally recognized trainer in the field of psychology. He’s a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with private practices in both California and Virginia (United States), and Peer-Reviewed Trainer in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, for which he also serves as Chair of the Training Committee.

Lance McCracken, PhD

Lance McCracken, PhD, is Professor and Head of Division of Clinical Psychology at Uppsala University in Sweden. He has done several things that were quite new at the time: a first published paper on a facet of what is now known as psychological flexibility in people with chronic pain in 1998, helped launch the first ACT-based specialty chronic pain service in the UK in 2000, and initiated a research group with a focus on idiographic and process-focused research in chronic pain in 2018.

Kim L. Gratz, PhD

Kim L. Gratz, PhD is a senior clinical quality manager and clinical lead of the dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) program at Lyra Health. She also holds an appointment in the department of psychology at the University of Toledo, where she previously served as professor and chair. She has received multiple awards for her research on personality disorders and self-injury, is an Invited Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Self-Injury, and has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and eight books on emotion regulation, borderline personality disorder, self-injury, and DBT.

Matthew T. Tull, PhD

Matthew T. Tull, PhD is a clinical quality supervisor at Lyra Health, and he also holds an appointment in the department of psychology at the University of Toledo. His research and clinical work emphasize the role of emotion regulation in anxiety disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, and high-risk behaviors such as substance use, self-injury, and suicide. His research has been funded through the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institute of Mental Health, and the Canadian Institute of Health Research. His work has also been recognized through awards from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
